QUALIFICATIONS:
- GED or High School Diploma
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Coordinating, planning and development of routes, transit assets, and compliance with grant.
- Preparing and monitoring the Transit program budget.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds and move about with ease.
- Skill and ability to communicate courteously and effectively orally and in writing, with the ability to work with the public and provide quality customer service.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software. (Outlook. Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and productively.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
- Assist in the development of a quality transit program for tribal citizens. Assist with route development and mapping as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date log of all transportation activities, vehicle milage logs, and an active calendar of scheduled pick-up/drop-off points. Book and coordinate customer transfers, ensuring punctual and accurate pick-up/drop-off services.
- Dispatch calls as needed and communicate with transit drivers to ensure that all requests are documented, and that passengers are picked up and dropped off as scheduled. Provide drivers with a schedule and communicate throughout the shift to ensure safety and quality of service.
- Ability to use effective questioning to confirm essential information (including pick-up/drop off times, accessibility needs, special requirements, etc.) while resolving customer inquiries related to services offered. Monitor schedules and have ability to work with emergency management to monitor inclement weather-related cancellations to adjust schedules if needed.
- Ability to coordinate and implement transit schedule and monitor the status of transportation needs as they arise, this will include scheduling of regular vehicle maintenance, any fixed routes, and/or as necessary assist drivers with transportation services. Maintain transportation vehicles by ensuring they are clean and meet Kaw Nation standards for providing services to the community.
- Attend necessary trainings to improve and enhance services. Stay current with industry updates and communicate with transit program personnel to ensure we are in compliance of current transportation compliance requirements and trends.
- Complete any other duties as assigned by the immediate/controlling supervisor.
