QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a physical examination. Completion of food preparation training at an accredited vocational school, or two (2) years’ experience in quantity meal preparation.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Prepares meals for Title VI program
Prepares menus in advance to meet the special dietary needs of elderly and child care facility
Prepares food supply lists for program director to order
Raw food
Kitchen supplies
Utensils
Kitchen staples
Responsible for all related kitchen duties and practices
Sanitation
Health
Safety
Food storage
Temperature checks daily on food served, refrigerators, and freezers
Responsible for specific cleaning duties
Record keeping on the following items:
Yearly reports
Daily meal count of all meals served
Daily sign-in meal sheet
Daily count of units of service
Periodically surveys food likes and dislikes from participants
May at times deliver meals when needed to fill in for one of the transporters
Complete any other duties as assigned by the immediate/controlling supervisor.
