Position Summary The Facilities & Events Specialist plays a vital front line role in keeping City Central beautiful for tenants, businesses, and visitors. This position is responsible for daily janitorial services throughout the 60,000 square-foot, six-story building, light maintenance and upkeep of all common areas, and hands-on support during building events. The ideal candidate takes genuine pride in the condition of City Central and understands that a well maintained, welcoming environment reflects directly on the PCDA’s mission and the broader Ponca City community.
Work Schedule Standard Daily Schedule This position operates on an early morning start to ensure City Central is clean, polished, and fully ready before tenants and visitors arrive for the business day.
Time Block Duties 4:00 AM – 8:00 AM Janitorial services: cleaning offices and restrooms throughout all five floors of the building 8:00 AM – 9:00 am Unpaid Lunch Break 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Light maintenance tasks and care of building common spaces, lobbies, hallways, and shared areas
Event Days - Split Shift City Central hosts events approximately 1–2 times per month during a typical month, with higher event frequency in May and December. On days when events are scheduled, the employee will work a split shift or half a shift if the event is held on a weekend day. • Complete the standard 4:00 AM – 8:00 AM janitorial shift as normal • Return during event hours to provide on-site support for the event as needed • Total hours worked will be adjusted accordingly so the employee is not required to work a full standard shift on event days Event support may include setup and breakdown assistance, maintaining cleanliness during events, restocking restrooms, and providing a welcoming presence for clients and guests. Specific event hours and expectations will be communicated in advance by the City Central Manager.
Schedule Flexibility While the standard schedule is 4:00 AM – 1:00 PM Monday through Friday, some flexibility in the daily end time may be offered when circumstances allow, particularly on non-event days. The City Central Manager will communicate any schedule adjustments. May and December require the greatest scheduling flexibility due to elevated event activity.
Clean and sanitize all restrooms on each floor, including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures
Sweep, mop, and vacuum office areas, hallways, stairwells, and lobby spaces
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners throughout the building
Clean and wipe down office surfaces, breakroom areas, and common touchpoints
Replenish supplies including paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, and other restroom consumables
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and mops
Report any unsanitary conditions, damage, or facility concerns to the City Central Manager
Light Maintenance & Common Space Care (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Conduct daily walkthroughs of all common areas including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, and shared spaces
Perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, and minor repairs within the scope of the role
Maintain cleanliness and order in all common areas throughout the day
Monitor building exterior areas around the building grounds for cleanliness and debris
Coordinate with the City Central Manager regarding maintenance needs that require outside contractors or specialized repair
Support seasonal or special facility needs as directed
EventSupport
Assist with setup and breakdown of event spaces including The Summit, Redbud Room, The Link, and other venues as needed
Maintain restroom cleanliness and restock supplies during events
Ensure common areas remain tidy and presentable throughout the duration of events
Provide a professional, welcoming presence for event clients and guests
Assist event coordinators and the City Central Manager with facility-related needs during events
Perform post-event cleanup including removing trash, cleaning floors, and restoring spaces to their standard configuration
Qualifications Required
Ability to work early morning hours beginning at 4:00 AM
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, bending, and operating cleaning equipment
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Basic understanding of janitorial products, equipment, and cleaning techniques
Ability to identify and communicate maintenance issues clearly
Positive, professional demeanor when interacting with tenants, clients, and visitors
Preferred
Prior experience in janitorial, building maintenance, or facilities management
Experience supporting events in a public or commercial venue
Familiarity with basic building systems, lighting, and plumbing fixtures
Experience working in a multi-tenant or government-owned facility

Working Conditions
Early morning start required; building will be largely unoccupied during the 4:00–8:00 AM janitorial shift
Physical demands include prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and use of cleaning and maintenance equipment
Exposure to cleaning chemicals and solutions; PPE will be provided as appropriate
Occasional evening and weekend hours required for event support
Indoor work environment across all five floors; access to stairwells and elevators required
May be required to work in or around active event spaces with guests and clients present
