Director of Finance
Qualifications: Requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or other relevant area. Minimum of at least five years experience as an Accounting/Finance Manager or Controller desired, CPA is preferred. Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, expense analysis, cost benefit analysis and financial statement interpretation required. Must be extremely numbers-oriented and be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook along with various accounting software including casino software packages. Must possess experience in financial analysis or related area, preferably in the gaming industry. Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex of documents, such as technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required. Superior verbal/written skills and presentation skills will be needed to fully perform job function. Good punctuation, spelling, grammar, and attention to detail a must. Must pass extensive background check in accordance with Kaw Nation Gaming Commission regulations to obtain a gaming license, pre-employment testing and be bondable.
Responsibilities and Duties
The KGI Director of Finance oversees the operational accounting functions for the properties and ensures that accurate financial information is provided to senior management for decision making purposes. Responsible for management of accounting functions of the organization.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise Accounting/Recon., Drop Team and Cage/Vaulting personnel for K.G.I.
- Ensure that all subordinate employees abide by all internal controls, policies, and procedures during all shifts.
- Prepare budget and routinely monitor to ensure attainment of established goals.
- Review schedules to ensure that critical time periods have adequate staffing and overtime is kept at a minimum.
- Ensure staff behavior and appearances are compliant with established standards.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback.
- Executes change in management strategies by utilizing an established change framework to proactively drive change throughout the organization.
- Ensures that all regulatory reporting requirements are met for Tribal, Federal, and State regulatory agencies.
- Establishes and ensures internal control procedures and structures to safeguard company assets.
- Ensures that all periodic audit reports are prepared in a timely manner for internal management, auditors, and external reviewers.
- Establishes and maintains positive banking relations and monitors cash management services to facilitate cash management of all accounts.
- Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
- Have the ability to perform and understand the duties of all subordinates.
- Plan, participate and/or attend departmental meeting to update managerial staff of all necessary information regarding relevant accounting activities and communicate back to staff pertinent information from colleagues to Accounting/Recon, Drop Team, and Cage Vault employees.
- Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees, and guests.
- Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
- Train employees to perform job at or above standards.
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the job including meetings as requested and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
- Assist in other duties and projects as assigned.

- Directly oversee payroll process for KGI properties.
