Requirements: Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.  A bachelor’s degree preferred; in Computer Science, Electrical engineering, Telecommunications technology, or with 5 to 7-years’ experience as a Slot Manager. Candidate must pass an extensive background check, in accordance with Kaw Nation Gaming Commission regulations to obtain a gaming license and pre-employment testing.  Requires being able to sit/stand for extended periods of time and have visual dexterity suitable to read small print on reports and machines and position requires lifting to 50 pounds. Candidate must have excellent PC skills, knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Must be self motivated able to work independently. Must be able to provide direction well to subordinates and work within a strenuous high-volume atmosphere.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The Slot Director is typically responsible for the successful, scheduling of tasks including tracking dependencies, managing change requests, and guaranteeing quality of deliveries and educating the team on best technical practices. Slot Director will oversee and assist I.T.  and Slot Coordinator with the installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment.
 
  • Knowledge of casino rules, procedures and regulations pertaining to Slot operations and IT Technology.
  • Ability to create and understand complex computer programs, data with the ability to formulate and communicate ideas.
  • Overall responsibility for proper monitoring of systems, programming, back-up, and usage of Casino equipment.
  • Oversee Slots department which includes Managers on Duty, Slot Supervisor, Slot Techs and Off-Track Betting.
 
  • Oversee scheduling of those under your Supervision.
  • Troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via e-mail) in a timely accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.
 
  • Aid outside technicians during installs and upgrades while ensuring security and integrity of casino’s network.
 
  • Ensure the system design completeness in relation to use, needs, system integration and timely project completion.
  • Ensure slot machine performance through preventative maintenance and evaluation of reports on machine performance.
  • Ensures that the highest possible standards of guest services and employee relations are maintained and carried out in fair and equitable manner.
  • Provides input to the General Manager and department heads concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of attention.
  • Maintains current knowledge of gaming regulations under Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS) Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) and policy and procedures.  
  • Report’s irregularities, suspicious behavior, or safety concerns to the General Manager. Informs matters of eminent danger or life and safety to ranking Security and Surveillance personnel and then updates General Manager as soon as possible.
  • Implementing the protection and loss prevention philosophies of the General Manager. 
  • Ensures internal control procedures and structures to safeguard company assets.
  • Oversee all server rooms including wiring, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Analyze machine and gaming performance on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis and make recommendations to the General Manager.
  • Provide quality assurance on all new installations, construction, maintenance, and correct any deficiencies that are recognized.


 
  • Always requires confidentiality while handling company information.
  • Required to answer cell phone for business calls on a 24-hour schedule.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the                   public, employees, and guests.        
  • Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Attend meetings when requested.
 
  • Communication – balancing listening and talking, speaking, and writing clearly and accurately, influencing others, keeping other informed. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company.

  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with guests, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.

  • Initiate and maintain a professional work environment while communicating with subordinates, co-workers, management, guests, vendors, and other departments while on duty.
  • Position may require working nights, weekends and holidays as required
  • Gaming badge must be worn on upper left quadrant while on duty.
  • Assist with other duties and projects assigned.
