Qualifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D. required, Candidates must pass background and drug screening per Kaw Nation Gaming Commission regulations to obtain a gaming license (Medical Marijuana cards are accepted). Flexibility to work any shift as needed or assigned, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, balance heavy items, and stand or walk for extended periods. Effective communication with prep cooks and wait staff is essential, along with the ability to stay calm and perform efficiently under pressure. Previous restaurant experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The line cooks’ primary responsibility is to ensure menu items are prepared to guest's order specifications and finalizes plate presentation while adhering to all safety, sanitation, and food handling guidelines. The work a line cook does can be physically and mentally demanding, consisting of repetitive work while standing most of shift, working well under pressure, and exercising tact and patience when collaborating with Back of House and service staff. - Ensure menu items are prepared according to recipes and specifications.
- Finalization for plate presentation.
- Demonstrates expertise in culinary practices and safe food handling.
- Able to work and multi-task as part of a team in a hot, fast-paced environment.
- Label and date all stored food & rotate food as needed.
- Frequent hand washing as per Health Department Guidelines.
- Able to do repetitive work.
- Follow opening and closing procedures.
- Understands kitchen equipment usage and promptly reports any malfunctions, or needed repairs, to management.
- Be a self-motivator.
- Keep a clean, stocked, and organized workspace.
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic reading, writing, computer, and mathematical skills.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
