TITLE: CHILD CARE OFFICE MANAGER
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: KAW NATION EDUCATION SERVICES DIRECTOR
CONTROLING SUPERVISOR: CHAIR
LOCATION: NEWKIRK

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, with knowledge or experience in developing Child Care, Early Childhood, or Head Start programs. Has worked with Oklahoma State Department of Human Services with knowledge in obtaining a Childcare provider contract and all policies and procedures pertaining to the contract.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Childcare Manager leads and manages the Childcare center Director in cultivating an environment in which children and their parents can feel safe, secure, and well-educated. Work with Oklahoma State Department of Human Services in obtaining a Childcare provider contract. Plan and develop a Childcare program that will include Early Childhood Education and Head Start services. Produce policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all guidelines and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Provides executive administration concerning all activities at the Child Care Facility.
  2. Conducts monthly meeting with Child Care Director.
  3. Sets short- and long-term goals for Child Care Director
  4. Provides feedback to the Director concerning the performance of their duties.
  5. Conducts interviews and reviews the qualifications of all new staff for the Child Care Center.           
  6. Supervises the Child Care Director and administrative staff.
  7. Writes Policies and Procedures for the Child Care Center.
  8. Conducts program evaluation of the Child Care Center.
  9. Prepares Department budget and oversees and approves expenditures.
  10. Provides feedback to the Director on their performance in managing the Child Care center.
  11.  Approve orders and purchases teaching materials including toys, videos, books, educational aids, cleaning supplies, food, and first aid supplies.
  12. Ensures parents up to date on their child’s progress and development.
  13. Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills in managing the Child Care Director and Staff.
  14. Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills in order to communicate with state, federal, and local agencies.
  15. Must have strong leadership skills in supervising and managing the Child Care Director, Staff, and program.
  16. Knowledgeable about the latest trends and techniques in education and child-rearing, including discipline, encouragement, and communication.
  17. Familiarity with theories and practices of behavioral therapy, child development, and parent-child relationships
  18. Must have all CPR and First Aid certifications.
  19. Must pass a background check.
  20. Keeps accurate files on employees,
  21. Works with the Director to find ways to address any behavioral or learning problems.
  22. Ensures that the facility and staff adhere to all state, federal and local regulations.
  23. Must be flexible and able to react appropriately to changing circumstances.
  24. Must have strong crisis management abilities and be able to maintain a cool composure in times of crisis.
  25. Must have strong administrative and time management skills.
  26. May perform other duties as assigned.
