Director of Human Resources
Qualifications: An associate degree, in human resources, business, psychology and/or personnel related category. At least five (5) years experience in, either supervisory position, which involved hiring, counseling, employee termination and human resources departmental position. An individual with 7 + years experience as a supervisor or in management without a degree will be considered the equivalent of a degreed individual. Must be familiar with current federal employment laws regarding business employment.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Receive and process all departmental requests for employees for KGI Enterprises.
- Oversee paperwork of all departmental requests for employees and ensure Change Actions are completed for KGI Enterprises.
- Oversee placing of advertising, postings and actively recruit for all open job positions for KGI Enterprises.
- Establish procedures with managerial approval for new department and recommendations to the KGI Board.
- Recommend to the KGI Board for approval any new employment applications, or other forms necessary for employment with KGI.
- Review employment applications for referral to General Manager’s and/or Management of KGI in need of employees.
- Inform applicants of possible employment status.
- Oversee pre-employment testing for applicants who have been offered conditional or accepted for employment by KGI.
- Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Report to COO/GM to be kept informed of HR activities.
- Attend meetings as requested or required by immediate Supervisor or Boards of KGI.
- Oversee that information for background checks for applicants who have been accepted for employment are completed.
- Maintain all personnel files for KGI Enterprises at a Central Location.
- Insure employees are provided all materials including employee handbook, and/or information needed for new employees to begin work.
- Oversee gaming license schedule (when applicable)
- Oversee training schedules (if applicable) with departmental supervisor of new employees.
- Oversee new hire employment orientation.
- Counsel employees on employment issues and act as liaison and or mediator for KGI.
- Prepare employment-related reports to the KGI and Keda Board on as needed basis.
- Oversee all KGI payroll information to accounting for payroll distribution.
- Oversee all insurance records on health, dental, vision, and life, are maintained for KGI.
- Negotiates with insurance on health benefits for betterment of KGI.
- Oversee entry and exit interviews on all employees for KGI Enterprises.
- Oversee and maintain tracking of employees’ absences, accrued hours and leave distribute to appropriate management for KGI.
- Oversee and maintain work comp reports, records, and requirements for KGI.
- Oversee employee evaluations are out in a timely manner.
- Sit in on interviews for Supervisor’s and above or as requested for KGI.
- Insure/oversee that final pay is generated correctly, and deductions are being deducted correctly for taxes, medical and all other deductions for correct amounts.
- Oversee that all Casino’s (KGI), Enterprises HR needs are met in a timely professional manner.
- Travel to locations as needed to handle employee situations for KGI.
- Ensures that the highest possible standards of guest services are number one.
- Be courteous and professional at all, times to co-workers, customers, vendors, or anyone you may have contact with while on duty.
- Must wear employee badges at all times while on duty or conducting business.
- Assist any duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor.
