Job Title: Experienced Sheet Metal Worker

Job Summary: At Custom Mechanical Equipment in Ponca City, Oklahoma, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality custom mechanical solutions. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be adept at fabricating, building, and installing a variety of metal products, including complex ductwork for HVAC systems. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Consultation and Planning: Review blueprints, work orders, and schematics to construct specified structures safely and accurately, tailored to custom mechanical applications.
• Fabrication and Assembly: Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to meet precise dimensions and specifications. Measure, cut, and weld metal pieces together according to detailed plans and technical directions.
• Connection and Securing: Connect pieces or secure seams using methods such as riveting, rolling, or steel screws to ensure structural integrity and performance.
• Assembly Line Operations: Perform tasks on assembly lines, including punching holes for screws, bending metal, and other specialized operations related to custom mechanical equipment.
• Machinery and Software Use: Operate CNC hydraulic presses, shears, and other machinery required for sheet metal work. Utilize software applications specific to custom mechanical fabrication to complete assigned projects.
• Coordination and Communication: Work closely with other departments to coordinate required shutdowns and startups of equipment related to sheet metal installation. Ensure seamless integration with ongoing projects and operations.
• Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive records for projects and repairs, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
• Workspace Maintenance: Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to promote a safe working environment.
• Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall operations of Custom Mechanical Equipment.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of duct work/sheet metal experience, with a focus on custom mechanical equipment and HVAC systems.
• Machinery Knowledge: Proficiency in operating CNC hydraulic presses and shears, with a strong understanding of their applications in custom fabrication.
• Precision: Ability to complete sheet metal projects with exceptional accuracy and precision, meeting the high standards of Custom Mechanical Equipment.
• Safety: Skill in safely using machinery and tools specific to sheet metal work, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
• Blueprint Reading: Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics to understand product assignments and ensure correct fabrication.
• Communication: Strong ability to follow directions and communicate effectively with team members and other departments.

Physical Requirements:

• Physical Demands: Ability to handle prolonged periods of lifting, reaching, and working on scaffolding and overhead structures.
• Lifting Capacity: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as required by the demands of the job and the materials used.
