Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License with Good Driving Record
  • Low-Pressure Boiler License Preferred
  • Unlimited Contractor Refrigeration License
  • Journeyman if Applicable

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains all safety and code requirements of the State, local, and Board of Education guidelines.
  2. Repairs and maintains all types of air conditioning, heaters, refrigeration units, and kitchen equipment.
  3. Repairs and maintains gas, hot water, steam and oil boilers, and hot air furnace.
  4. Rebuilds and repacks burned out boiler fireboxes.
  5. Repairs and maintains air handlers, ventilators, cooling coils, and radiators along with other mechanical heating and ventilating equipment.
  6. Monitors and coordinates control panels and thermostats of all systems to maintain standard working temperature.
  7. Maintains and operates a computerized energy management system.
  8. Performs regular preventive maintenance and boiler water treatment programs for all heating and air conditioning equipment.
  9. Installs and tests new equipment.
  10. May be required to be on 24-hour call.
  11. Accurately estimates project costs, orders, and accounts for material and labor relation to assignments.
  12. To ensure continuity of services, remote work may be necessary for the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of the school and/or office buildings. An employee’s eligibility for remote work will be determined by the superintendent of schools. Expectations and guidelines for remote work will be distributed by the employee’s supervisor, based on his/her role and responsibilities.
  13. Performs all other tasks as the supervisor may assign.

Employment Terms: 12 Months, 8 hours per day
7:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M., exclusive of a lunch
