Patient Benefits/PRC Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. GED or High School diploma.
2. Valid driver’s license.
3. Knowledge of appropriate software including MS Office, EHR/RPMS.
4. Previous experience with third party billing.
5. Detail oriented and exhibits problem-solving skills.
6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
7. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
8. Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills, maintains professional communication in person and via phone or email.
9. Demonstrate awareness, sensitivity and appreciation of Native culture, traditions, and socioeconomic needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Identifies patients who are eligible for alternate resources such as Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA), Medicare, Medicaid, SoonerCare, Indian Health Service programs, and Affordable Care Act/Health Exchange plans, private health insurance programs, and any other alternate resources that might be available.
· Determining if the patient qualifies for additional resources
· Assisting the patient with completion of the application
· Computer documentation of the results.
2. Attend mandatory trainings and obtain certifications for third party updates and enrollment.
3. Maintain information for use in required reports.
4. Work with IHS and outside providers to ensure continuity of care by receiving notes and putting through the referral system.
5. Request and scan medical records from outside providers.
6. Educate patients on alternate resources and enrolling them in programs that will benefit them.
7. Work closely with all staff in screening potential patients that may be eligible for alternate resources.
8. Abides by the HIPAA Privacy Act to maintain confidentiality of all records.
9. Awareness of Social Service programs offered to Kaw Tribal members.
10. Complete daily referrals.
11. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD, and CPT codes. Keep up to date with changes.
12. Complete any other duties assigned by immediate/controlling supervisor.
All new hires will be required by the Kaw Nation to submit to a pre-employment drug screen. Failure to pass the pre hire drug screen will lead to withdrawal of the job offer or termination of employment. All new hires must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, pull, push and lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
