KAW NATION POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: HEALTH DIRECTOR
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
CONTROLLING SUPERVISOR: TRIBAL CHAIR
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Public Health Administration, Hospital Administration, or Business Administration and 3-5 years direct supervisory experience in the field and in managing programs. Experience in budgetary development, monitoring personnel management, and grant/contract administration. Applicants may satisfy education requirements with an appropriate combination of training and experience in Health Program Management, budgetary development and monitoring, personnel management, and grant and contract administration. Applicant must have a demonstrated ability in researching, developing, and preparing grant proposals. Applicant must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver License.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to research, develop, and prepare grant proposals and required program reports.
- Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with staff and community.
- Administers all aspects of Self-Governance Compact between US Department of the Interior and the Kaw Nation to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Promotes and coordinates the Kaw Nation Health Program with Federal, State, County, and voluntary organizations, and agencies to address program and client services as needed.
- Administers health related programs including clinics, pharmacy, and dental office.
- Prepares reports and recommendations to the Tribal Chair and Tribal Council.
- Monitors and evaluates health program activities to determine quality and quantity of services provided, provides technical assistance to each program, assists with staff development activities.
- Assists program supervisors in the development of grants and health contract applications and modifications.
- Performs all activities necessary to assure quality management of health programs by facilitating the coordination and networking the IHS and delivery of comprehensive health care to Kaw people and their dependents.
- Administers a detailed third-party reimbursement system, develops and draft tribal policy, and methods and procedures of action for overall tribal health activities.
- Responsible for establishing specific goals, objectives, and other programmatic activities for home health care service delivery.
- Complete any other duties as assigned by the immediate/controlling supervisor.
